The PRATT PRESS
May 2009
From the Desk of Anne Wade …
Summer and the end of the school year are fast approaching. It’s a busy time for our teachers and staff, students and families! Teachers are planning a great Field Day event at Luxton Park and also end-of-year field trips. Thursday, May 14th, grades K–3 will sing for the 2009 Pratt Spring Concert at 2:30 in the gym. Next week the 4th / 5th graders look forward to performing a play for students and families.
Soon we will be planning for the 5th graders’ transition from Pratt. Students and their parents who haven’t chosen a middle school for 6th grade will need to decide soon. Many of the students have had a chance to visit their new school and others will be doing so before the end of the year.
This week 5th graders will be completing MCA’s in Science. The results of the MCA-II’s will be sent home in the fall.
If you have a kindergartener starting in September 2009, be sure to come in and pick up your registration forms to be completed at the building level, and return to our school office as soon as possible. This will assure you have saved a place for your kindergartener and transportation will be set up for the first day of school. This will be an adjustment for children and parents, so the opportunity to visit the school for a tour will help ease the transition process. You may call Jakki Kydd-Fidelman at 612-668-1122 to arrange a tour.
