Regular Needs

Note that you don’t have to commit to a daily or even weekly schedule. Pratt will be happy to work around whatever time you have available, even if it’s only one day a month. The school has many parents, grandparents and neighbors who volunteer their time to the school whenever they have a free hour or two, and you can be one of them!

• Daytime classroom helpers (10:00–4:00) Yes, I can do this!
• Lunch & recess supervisors (12:30–1:30) Yes, I can do this!
• Tutoring (10:00–12:30) Yes, I can do this!
• Conducting school tours (November – January) Yes, I can do this!
• Photographing special events Yes, I can do this!

Part-Time Needs

• Pratt Press. This is the school’s monthly newsletter. We need help with writing, editing, layout and photography. Yes, I can do this!
• Fundraising. This simply requires tracking donated box tops and bottle caps. Yes, I can do this!
• Publicity. Contact The Bridge (the neighborhood newspaper) with monthly news updates and contacting families to alert them to upcoming events. Yes, I can do this!
• Coordinating volunteers Yes, I can do this!
• PTO leadership Yes, I can do this!

Annual Needs

• Annual Fundraising Letter (November/December). Send out letters, write thank-you’s, track donations and publicize results. Yes, I can do this!
• Annual Family Fun Night & Talent Show (January). Plan food, coordinate talent, generate publicity, act as Master of Ceremonies. Yes, I can do this!
• Annual Ice Cream Social (June). Coordinate silent auction and recruit families to staff various games. Yes, I can do this!
• Fifth Grade “Graduation” (June). Plan food, entertainment and decorations, print invitations and written program. Yes, I can do this!
